wwonderlust

From a wall of text to a trip you can see and reshape.

The project

The first version worked. Type in a trip, get back a plan. But the output was plain text, with no map, no images, and no real structure, no different from pasting the same prompt into any AI chat. The real problem was giving people a reason to use this over a spreadsheet, a group chat, or a maps app they already had open.

User interviews kept surfacing the same thing. One person always ends up running the plan. “The trip won’t happen if no one takes charge,” as one person put it. So we designed for that person specifically, prioritised seeing the plan over reading it, and kept the whole thing flexible enough to change. In practice, that meant centering the interface on an interactive map instead of a wall of text, real photos and descriptions pulled in automatically, and a proper editing mode where a stop can be swapped, dragged, or changed just by asking.

We also built an internal tool for social media assets. Type in a set of coordinates, get back a destination-specific poster in the same visual style, no manual redraws for every new city.
